Title:Career Development Beyond Academia

The goal of this webinar is to provide insightful tips to help attendees as they begin or continue their career in various fields related to Adult Education. The presenter will address career blind spots commonly seen in the workforce. Attendees will walk away from this webinar with practical strategies to use right away to connect the dots between their experience and career. Attendees will learn how to identify and brand transferable skills and develop a job search strategy.

About the Speaker:

 
 

Ivory Patten is a South Carolina native on a mission to help people become their best selves and be successful in business as well as their personal lives by providing practical tools which can applied at work, home, and in the community.  She is currently a Human Resource Organizational Development Trainer for the University of Tennessee System.  Patten earned her Masters of Science in Educational Psychology, with honors from the University of Tennessee Knoxville.  Ivory holds a B.A. degree in Mass Communications from the University of South Carolina.  Her previous work in training and development was nominated for a United States Department of Energy Corporate Pyramid Award for its innovation and effectiveness regarding leadership development for high potential leaders.  Ivory has been featured as a spotlight in the Knoxville Business Journal for her leadership with Y-12 National Security Complex’s professional development program for early career professionals.  Ivory has designed and implemented online certificate programs, managed interns from across the United States in a federal consortium program, led and facilitated sessions in an ongoing local community life enrichment development program, worked as a recruiter, benefits administrator, human resource business partner, and human resource generalist in public and private sectors.  Patten has presented for leadership and young professional audiences as well as audiences in the non-profit and civic arena.
