The Commission for Distance Learning and Technology (CDLT) hosted a "featured session" at the 2015 AAACE Conference in Oklahoma City titled, "The Power, Peril and Promise of Social Media and Technologies for Adult Education in the Information Age." Over 70 attendees participated in this interactive session, which included a brief history of social media, pitfalls to avoid, and detailed strategies for cultivating successful online communities of practice in today’s information age. Presenters for this and over 20 other technology and distance education-related sessions have been invited to submit brief articles for upcoming editions of The CDLT News. Information regarding two upcoming CDLT webinars on creating a research and publication agenda will also be featured.
