Contribute to the Encyclopedia of Information Science and Technology

In 2014, IGI Global released the third edition of its world-renownedEncyclopedia of Information Science and Technology, edited by Dr. Mehdi Khosrow-Pour.  This well received 10-volume reference set includes over 800 research-based articles contributed by thousands of scholars and researchers from more than 73 countries worldwide. Its comprehensive treatment of all aspects pertaining to information science and technology includes insightful, peer-reviewed advanced research entries from 17,000 plus researchers, directing readers to over 20,000 references and resources for further study.

The Encyclopedia of Information Science and Technology (4th Edition), will provide comprehensive coverage and up-to-date definitions of the most important issues, concepts, trends and technologies in IS and IT. This new publication will be distributed worldwide among academic and professional institutions and will be instrumental in providing researchers, scholars, students and professionals’ access to the latest knowledge related to information science and technology. Contributions to this important publication will be made by scholars throughout the world with notable research portfolios and expertise.

The Encyclopedia of Information Science and Technology (4th Edition) will provide a collection of short articles (3,000-3,500 words), authored by leading experts, offering an in-depth description of concepts, issues, challenges, innovations, and opportunities in the field of information science and technology and their impact on all aspects of modern organizations and society in general.

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before Feb.  22, 2016 an article proposal of 300-500 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed article. Authors of accepted proposals will be notified by Feb. 29, 2016 about the status of their proposals and will be sent article guidelines for preparing an article (3,000-5,000 words), as well as 7-10 related terms and their appropriate definitions. Full articles with definitions are expected to be submitted by March 21, 2016. All submitted articles will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be asked to serve as reviewers for this project. Guidelines for preparing your short article and terms and definitions may be found at (under the “For Authors” heading). IGI Global will publish this publication under the imprint “Information Science Reference.” This publication is anticipated to be released in winter 2017.
