It is hard to believe that the 2016 AAACE Conference is a mere 4 months away. The Conference Planning Committee and the Management Team have been working hard preparing for what will be a memorable event. I am looking forward to the visit to Albuquerque , a beautiful city with stunning views of the Sandia Mountains. We had an impressive group of proposals submitted this year – a grand total of 331! This represents strong growth, and bodes well for the conference. The Proposal group, led by Leslie Cordie, took on the Herculean task of organizing the proposal review process. The large number of submission meant extra work reviewing and then matching proposals with the most appropriate sessions types to allow for as many voices as possible . We will have concurrent, shared concurrent, round table and poster presentation sessions. Each style offers a different type of presenter/attendee interaction. I look forward to sharing my time with a variety of session types.

Over the past three years, we have continued to increase the position of poster presentations at the conference. As part of this growing emphasis, this year we will be holding two different sessions dedicated to posters. One will be late Wednesday afternoon with a wine and cheese reception. Over 50 proposals were approved as poster presentations this year! These sessions are such a great opportunity for interaction between presenters and attendees. Another change for this year will be that the poster awards will be presented during the Thursday Awards Luncheon, rather than on Friday. This will give the posters an increased level of visibility, and allow the whole body to celebrate in this very special time.

I hope you are already making your plans for Albuquerque. You do not want to miss this one! Registration is open now. Do not forget to reserve your rooms early.
