Purpose/focus: The SIG focuses on adult development and changes in capabilities, perspectives, and worldviews that occur as we move forward through life.
Goal: The primary goal is to provide a forum for member researchers and practitioners to explore concepts and practices related to the continuous (life wide, life long, life deep) development of adults. Highlighted will be the ways we further develop capabilities to deal with continually emerging complex problems adults face in the current challenging and dynamic global environment, in order to take collaborative action and to find innovative solutions.
Activities: Some possible initial activities are to:
- Create an internal network to explore common interests and current and emerging issues related to understanding and supporting adult development.
- Determine and implement a variety of ways to communicate among ourselves and with others.
- Encourage and review proposals for presentations and dialogue on adult development at the 2014 conference.
- Create the SIG’s near term action goals and timeline.
