Nancy Fire is currently a Faculty Development Specialist at the University of North Texas where she works with faculty to promote student learning at multiple levels across multiple disciplines. She helps design curriculum and engaging teaching strategies in her work with groups of faculty, staff and students.
Nancy has worked in training and development and faculty development for the majority of my career. Her focus is helping faculty embrace the importance of student learning using culturally responsive, engaged learning strategies. She specializes in program development and evaluation, qualitative research for program design and improvement, strategic planning, personnel development and training, and workshops using constructiveness, real world interactive strategies.
Nancy Fire’s research focus is virtual learning of traditional Native American students. This work has led her to found a culturally responsive consulting organization, Fire and Associates, with her husband, Michael, a Cheyenne Arapaho elder. They provide face to face and online workshops, consultation, and virtual seminars to faculty at colleges and universities.
