Conference Sessions To Make an Outstanding Chorus!

by Christy Rhodes, 2017 Conference Chair

Thank you to everyone who submitted a proposal to present at the AAACE 2017 Conference. Proposal notifications and selection emails have already been sent to all primary presenters. We are incredibly pleased to have such a wide variety of topics related to our conference theme “Adult Education: One Chorus of Many Voices”.  Thanks to the work of volunteer proposal reviewers from AAACE SIGs and Commissions, we now have a lineup of 185 concurrent and 46 roundtable sessions, as well as 17 presenters in our dedicated poster session. What a diverse and strong chorus of voices we will be listening to in Memphis!

The next step will be for all primary presenters to confirm their participation. Once that’s done, concurrent and roundtable sessions will be scheduled based on the primary presenter’s date and time preferences. We will work as hard as possible to honor those preferences, but sometimes time and space force us to offer alternative time slots. We are hoping to have that information ready for you by mid-July, so please reply to those emails as soon as possible to avoid any major scheduling issues.  All that will be left to do after that is for both primary and secondary presenters to register by the Early Bird Deadline (9/15/17).

Research-to-Practice Conference Proposals

There’s one more chance to add your voice in Memphis. We are very fortunate to collaborate with the Research-to-Practice (R2P) Conference organizers to offer dedicated R2P sessions throughout AAACE 2017. The purpose of R2P is to build community among researchers and practitioners. Therefore, proposals for sessions which highlight new research, explore policy, and showcase adult and continuing education best practices are welcome. This Call for Proposals will be open from June 26 to July 10 at https://proposalspace.com/calls/d/730 .
