The 2020 Census is upon us, with Census Day -- April 1 -- just over 10 weeks away. A fair and accurate Census count is essential for adult learners, many of whom rely on the education, training, and social safety net services that are funded on the basis of Census Bureau population data. To promote Census completion by these learners, the National Coalition of Literacy is conducting Pledge To Be Counted!, a campaign that encourages adult education programs and practitioners to teach their learners about the Census using a short set of materials developed by World Education, to provide facilities for their learners and others to complete the online Census form, and to connect with their local Complete Count Committees to coordinate their efforts with those of others in their communities. As the Census Bureau has noted, outreach by trusted community organizations such as adult education programs and libraries is essential to reaching individuals with low income levels, members of minority and immigrant groups, and other hard-to-count populations.

AAACE is an NCL  member organization; therefore, we are asking that you support the campaign by:

- Including a short blurb and link to the Pledge To Be Counted! campaign in e-news, social media posts, and other communications in your networks
- Following NCL on Twitter and re-tweeting messages about the Census and Pledge To Be Counted!
- Linking to NCL blog posts in e-news, social media posts, and other communications
- Using the hashtags #pledgetobecountedadulted and #NCLpledgetobecounted in social media posts
