Dr. Margaret Eggleston, Ph.D., President

Dr. Margaret Eggleston is a scholar and practitioner, who held positions in for-profit and non-profit organizations, government, academia, and international associations. Dr. Eggleston’s roles included manager, treasurer, membership chair, program lead, strategic planning specialist, project manager, vice-president, and commission director. Between 2000 and 2012 she held high-level positions in the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Federal Aviation Administration, Gaithersburg-Washington Grove Volunteer Fire Department, and the American Society for Quality. Prior to becoming president of AAACE, Dr. Eggleston was the president-elect and 2015 conference chair, and director of the Commission for Workforce and Professional Development for three years. She has a wealth of knowledge, skills, and business acumen from the aforementioned roles.

Margaret also has hands-on experience in business operations supplemented by a graduate degree in Business Administration, with a specialization in Quality and Operations Management. Margaret’s scholar-practitioner experience aligns with her doctorate in Human Development, Adult Learning and Human Resource Development.

As a dedicated member of AAACE, Margaret contributed to a number of key AAACE initiatives. Her accomplishments include:
  • Hosting the first-ever AAACE, CWPD, webinar in August 2013; for the topic of Employee On-boarding
  • Co-developing the Members-Helping-Members online repository of members who freely share their time and talents with other members
  • Serving as marketing and communications chairperson for the annual AAACE conference (2012-2014)
  • Participating on tasks teams for policies and procedures, personnel, and leadership development

Currently, Dr. Margaret Eggleston is an independent consultant, small business owner, and serves on the faculty of an online university. Her interests include organizational design, leadership development, individual and group behavior, human performance technology, and performance management.
