Reflections from the Past President

Posted by: Margaret Eggleston, PhD Immediate Past President,
Just a few short weeks ago, I was finishing up my last few days as AAACE president. My term ended with the passing of a gavel to Dr. Steven Frye, at our annual conference in Albuquerque. I am now the immediate past president, and on the final leg of my three-year journey.
Speaking of the conference -- it was awesome! I enjoyed everything about it. Most importantly, I enjoyed chatting with so many first-timers, graduates, peers, and attendees in general. I look forward to continuing those relationships throughout 2017, and seeing everyone in Memphis next November. In the interim, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with your interest in serving AAACE.My contact information is on Page 42 of your conference program book.
As I reflect on my term as president, it is easy to see only the good and not the challenges. The rough patches along the way were nothing compared to the great outcomes, courtesy of an awesome leadership team. I leave you with these parting thoughts on being president:
I would not take years to think if I should
Nor spend more years wondering if I could
If I had it to do over, I would.
I’d think only of the greater good!
Thank you for your belief in me and the opportunity to serve!
Warmest wishes and season’s greetings.
