Jonathan Taylor & Christy M. Rhodes,
President-Elect 2017, AAACE Conference Chair

Call for Proposals

Have you started writing your proposal for the 66th Annual AAACE Conference at the Downtown Memphis Sheraton? The Call for Proposals is now open, so you’ll want to submit your proposal before the April 30th deadline. With the theme of this year’s conference, Adult Education: One Chorus of Many Voices, we will be exploring and highlighting aspects of adult and continuing education that demonstrate the commonalities of adult learning goals. We look forward to innovative and interactive sessions from across the broad spectrum of our field which will leave attendees with both practical and theoretical knowledge.

In addition to the general conference sessions, you should also think about submitting a proposal for one of the pre or co-conferences this year. Both the Commission for International Adult Education and the Commission for Distance Learning and Technology will be holding pre-conferences, as well as the Commission for Professors of Adult Education’s annual co-conference. All the information you need to submit a proposal for those events is also available on the AAACE website.

We know that the annual conference is not only about attending sessions, but also about connecting with old and new friends and colleagues. The conference planning committee is hard at work creating a variety of formal and informal networking opportunities for you. We also know that you will want to explore the rich history and music of Memphis, so you can take advantage of your stay in Memphis to visit the National Civil Rights Museum, the Beale Street restaurants, or Graceland!

On behalf of the AAACE Board and the conference planning committee, we welcome you to submit a proposal to the 66th Annual Conference and join us for a rocking great time in Memphis.
