- 2017 AAACE Conference
Save the date for the 66th Annual AAACE Conference to be held October 31 - November 3, 2017 at the Sheraton Memphis Downtown Hotel in Memphis, Tennessee. The theme for the 2017 conference is “Adult Education: One Chorus of Many Different Voices".
- Awards Presented
AAACE confers several categories of awards to recognize and honor exemplemary contributions to adults continuing education. The awards are a highly visible component of the association's statement about standards of excellence in the field. Watch for the call for awards nominations each spring and consider nominating outstanding people and programs for the awards. Read More.

Dr. Leslie Cordie was presented the AAACE President's Appreciation Award at the 65th Annual AAACE Conference in Albuquerque, NM. Dr. Cordie currently serves on the Board for AAACE (American Association of Adult and Continuing Education) and also served as the Proposal Chair for the 65th Annual AAACE Conference. Read More.

It has been an exciting year for AAACE and the strategic initiatives related to partnerships! As the umbrella organization for adult learning, AAACE has been a guiding force for connecting our diverse practitioners and scholars across the globe. - Commission for Distance Learning and Technology Connects Members and Friends
AAACE’s Commission for Distance Learning and Technology (CDLT), with over 200 members, was well represented at AAACE 2016 in Albuquerque! For example, conference activities under the distance and online learning (including technology) strand alone included over 40 concurrent sessions, poster presentations and roundtable discussions. A special “CDLT Director’s Appreciation Award” was given for the first time. Also new for 2016, rebranded “Commission Sponsored Sessions” were offered exclusively at 9:15 am on Wednesday, November 9th. Lastly, “The CDLT News” is seeking stories and articles from AAACE 2016 and beyond for its next blog edition. Read More.
- Commission for Community Minority and Non-Formal Education
The annual AAACE conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico November 7th-11th was a great success. CCMNFE was represented by many presentations in the areas of community and non-formal education, minority and human rights, popular education, religious adult education, and women’s issues, status, and education. It was wonderful to have the opportunity to attend the diverse array of CCMNFE sessions and to meet with many of the members of the CCMNFE commission during the conference. Read More.
- Graduate Student Commission
Greetings Members of the Graduate Student Commission: Yes, you read it correctly. The Graduate Student SIG is now the Graduate Student Commission (GSC). As the director of the GSC, I want to extend my gratitude. I am humbled and honored to serve the graduate student-member constituency. As the director, my responsibility is to act as your voice by bringing forth relevant issues that will help expand as well as create more professional development opportunities beyond the annual conferences. - AAACE Miltary SIG
The Military SIG, in conjunction with our colleagues at the American Council on Education, provided an update on ACE credit recommendations for military service members on Thursday, December 1, 2016. Eighteen participants registered for "Supporting Military Students with ACE Credit Recommendations", a one-hour webinar that provided information on the ACE credit review, the Military Guide Online, and the Joint Services Transcript (JST). In addition to information on use of the credit awards nationally, participants were able to share their own work with ACE credit recommendations.
